It takes me days to put up my Christmas decorations. I have an attic full of them - so many that I don't take them all out anymore. Most are vintage / retro since they evoke so many happy childhood memories. I'll try to post them as I decorate.
Below is my little Department 56 snow village scene. I don't have a lot of the houses because I only have the entry table in the foyer to put them on. They're an eclectic mix of different Dept 56 villages so some of the houses are different and some of the people are larger than others - but it doesn't matter to me - I still enjoy them.
Hope you enjoyed the little village. I'll be posting more of my decorations as I get them up.

Hi Glenda. What a delightful selection of little houses there. Really takes me back to Christmases past (not sure if I've got the right spelling there!). I love them all, and I look forward to seeing more of your decorations over the coming days. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteOh Glenda you will think be such a bah humbug - traditionally we never put up our decorations before Christmas Eve and take them down on New Years Day.
ReplyDeleteIt stemmed from living from having a cat who wrecked the Christmas Tree then two large dogs who just couldn't help but knock into everything - now it's just stuck.
I do have an assortment of homemade decorations though and still prefer to put those on a tree!
Loved your pictures though.
Oh Glenda, your decorations are great :) I love little snow villages at Christmas time. I'd have lots of them if I had a place for them. But, alas...I don't. I will be happy though looking at your pictures and can't wait to see more.
ReplyDeleteTake care, Janet W
I too have a snow village! Mine is often replicated to look a little like New Orleans or a port or ocean village! I like to put a portion of it so it looks like it is near water. I have boats and piers. Holden Beach it isn't but I will admit to being there for Thanksgiving. The beach is so much larger in the fall and winter, don't you find? I've been reading back in your posts to catch up while I was busy with Thanksgiving and other family obligations. Lovely postings!

ReplyDeleteHi Glenda, you have such beautiful decorations, makes me want to start thinking about getting my own out some time today. Thank you so much for stopping by and have a great day.
ReplyDeleteI love all of your little winter village homes and store fronts. You have quite an assortment of treasures.
ReplyDeleteI own only a couple of village homes and have been thinking about expanding my keeps. If I buy one or two a year then it will be a fun adventure right?
My Christmas collection is a grouping of snow globes. I will have to share the story of them soon as it always makes me laugh when the decorations come out.
Have a blessed and wonderful day in all you do today.
nice post! thanks for sharing... God bless you... loves soraya
